Black Mamba’s stylist told the LA times that the look they are going after the picture of Kobe was a mix of Epic Fail and Tupac or something to that effect.
Kobe Bryant’s stylist said that working with Kobe was amazing, he was cool with everything. Kobe trusted them. They took couple of pictures and Kobe likes it so they keep on going.
The photgrapher wants to do everything in color white so they dress Kobe with a white hat. Kobe’s stylist does not want to use accessories that would look like to be too retro in sytle. So they do it in a young, cool way because that’s what Kobe Bryant is. He is a young, cool and a successful basketball player.
He’s stylist explained that he wanted to give a modern approach, so he was thinking of the rapper Tupac Shakur where he put a band underneath the hat so it will look like a hip-hop, but it translates in a surreal look where it creates a very strong image of a guy.
It was something that has not been done before. It is mixing a gentleman with a white hat and with an inspiration of Tupac. which turnout to be a mix of conservative and a hip-hop look.
