Patriot Day

The Southern Illinois Roller Girls will be celebrating Patriot Day with a big event:  A roller derby bout against their sister leagues from Paducah and Cape Girardeau.

The event, which starts at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, will be a double header and promises plenty of action for the $10 admission price. (Children 12 and under get in for free and servicemen and women get a $2 discount at the door!)

As always, there will be a philantrhopic mission for this event.  The roller girls will be raising money to help the Bush, IL volunteer firefighters purchase lifesaving equipment.  Additionally at this event there will be a donation made to Hospice of Southern Illinois in the amount of $1000, which is from the previous bout.

The rollergirls, who have made appearances at several events this year including poker runs and a playground build.  They are currently scheduling bouts for the 2011 season, so if your organization is interested in receiving funding, please contact Dread Pirate Robyn at lizardisanerd@gmail.com.
