A natural gas line explosion in Cleburne, Texas has injured at least six people - but now it's unclear if anyone lost their lives in the blaze. News reports had orignially claimed three people died in the blast. The searing heat and towering flames made it difficult for rescuers to determine how many people were injured at first - fatally or otherwise.
Cleburne City Manager Chester Nolen had told The Associated Press that at least three people were dead. But after fire officials and the gas line operator extinguished the fire, he said they were unsure if anyone was killed, according to the AP.
Nolen told the AP workers apparently hit the underground line about 50 miles south of Dallas while digging on Monday. He says the heat was "unbearable," even 300 yards from the flames. A column of gray smoke was visible miles away.
