Leominster Police and State Police responded to the North Leominster branch of the Leominster Credit Union after a robbery there Tuesday afternoon, according to Sgt. Charles Doherty.

A male suspect entered the Main Street branch around 3 p.m. and demanded money, Doherty said, adding the suspect did not show a weapon. A description of the man was not available Tuesday evening.

The man then took off on foot, running across Main Street, and officers searched the area with the aid of a police dog.

"They had a K-9 unit tracking him for a while, but it hasn't turned anything up," Doherty said.

The suspect got away with some money, and is believed to have gotten into a vehicle after initially running from the scene.

"I'm not sure how much he took off with," said Doherty, who noted reports on the robbery were not complete as of Tuesday evening.

No one was injured in the incident.
