Tonight during Dancing With The Stars show a team of eight dancers from the Purdue University's Latin and Ballroom Dance Team competed on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." San Diego dancers received 24 out of 30 points. Purdue University dancers earned 22 points out of 30.
After the 3rd break, ABC showed a video segment of the Purdue University dancers' team. Then the Purdue team performed a live dance challenging UC San Diego team. University of California's team had danced during the second break segment.
According to Purdue University's press release Dancing with the Stars is the number one rated TV show in the United States. It pairs celebrities with professional ballroom dancers who compete as a couple for judges' scores and viewer votes. One couple is eliminated each week until a champion receives the mirror ball trophy.
Today's performance was the first time when during a season the Dancing With The Stars organizers featured college amateurs or team dance competition.
