General Electric has issued a major recall of over 900,000 12-cup digital coffee makers, according to an announcement by Walmart and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The reason for the recall is that these coffee makers can overheat pretty easily and lead to burning or a fire. The recall was announced this morning, so you have to check out the model numbers included in the GE coffee maker recall: 169164 and 169165. You will be able to find these numbers on the bottom of the base.
These were models sold exclusively in Walmart from March 2008 to January 2010.
Contact Walmart at (800) 925-6278 between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. CT Monday through Friday for more information on what to do. Here you will find all the info about the recall.
