The opening sequence for 'The Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central) is replaced with a machine that includes an array of levers, pulleys and other needlessly complicated devices.
The contraption, which seems to have been inspired by cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg, ultimately results in the unveiling of a cardboard cutout of Stephen Colbert himself.
