Crystal Lin

"No one cared!"

That was Taiwanese actress Crystal Lin's huge sigh when asked about her virgin screen kiss in the Singapore movie Old Cow vs Tender Grass.

In fact, she revealed, there were not one, but three smooches she had to pull off in the film with three different people.

"Filming was a rush! It's frustrating [the kisses] flew by just like that," she teasingly lamented.

Produced by Clover Films, Old Cow vs Tender Grass is inspired by the real-life May-December relationship of local comedian Marcus Chin and his young personal assistant.

Henry Thia, 58, plays the senior lover in the movie, and his screen kiss with the 21-year-old Crystal had been highly anticipated. But there wasn't any breather to soak in the moment as every scene was rushed.

Old Cow vs Tender Grass concluded its filming a week ago.

The two leads however did not want to let in on whether it was an innocent peck on the cheek or a passionate Frenchie, insisting that interested parties should visit the cinemas to find out.

Crystal, an alumna of the popular singing contest One Million Star, first appeared on local TV in the Channel U telemovie The Will. She enthused that she would love to act in a local drama serial and, of all things, adores the weather here.

Despite the 37-year age gap, every day on the set with Henry was lively and infected with youthfulness, the Taiwanese revealed. The veteran funnyman, known for his jovial demeanour, would sing and dance to the Wonder Girls mega hit 'Nobody' when he wasn't in front of the camera.

He laughed, "No choice. Must act cute."

Is he doing so to look more compatible beside the baby that's Crystal?

"I naturally feel young when I see her!" Henry said.

The odd couple

Marcus Chin wasn't the only local actor embroiled in a May-December affair. Henry's friend, disgraced director Jack Neo, also had an extramarital affair with a woman 28 years his junior.

Was it awkward facing his longtime pal?

"No. I told him I would be acting this role long ago. I just had a meal with him a few days ago and it wasn't awkward."
