Bintan Triathlon Race 2010

Most of the triathletes come from Europe, the United States and Australia, event coordinator named only Yudhiarto said, quoted by the Jakarta Post.

"In terms of number, triathletes from Australia, Britain, France and New Zealand will dominate the race," he said.

About 1,500 triathletes from the around the world have confirmed their participation in the 6th Bintan Triathlon race in Riau Islands of Indonesia scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, a local media reported Friday.

Indonesian triatheletes have yet to register the yearly race. However, six Indonesians, who have been studying in Singapore, are planning to take part in the event, Yudhiarto said.

The coordinator said that the race is aimed to attract more international visitors to Bintan.
