Philadelphia Marathon Results 2010

Philadelphia Marathon Live Route Coverage and Winners – The Philadelphia Marathon is also known as the Philadelphia Independence Marathon since it was first started in the year 1954 and being organized  to schedule a race every year on the 3rd weekend of November.

Apparently, its already 9:30 am, and as of this writing, the 17th Annual Philadelphia Marathon is nearly completed. In just a short while winners will be proclaimed.

The start/finish line is at 22nd street and the Parkway. The 26-mile course loops through Center City, Penn’s Landing, Manayunk and back to 22nd and the Parkway. However, many roads will still be closed until 4 P.M. despite the morning finish of the Marathon including the Ben Franklink Parkway, Kelly Drive,and many others.

“The Philadelphia Marathon events showcase Philly as a destination to a group of consumers who are attractive to the local economy when you have this high socio-economic group coming to our city,” Emily Sparvero of Temple’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management said. “Those are the people we want as visitors to boost and keep our economy going.”

Nevertheless , the Philadelphia Marathon will be full of health events, lot of prizes, discounts, and during the race, more than 25 Cheer Zones fully stocked with music, entertainment and hot chocolate.
