It looks like someone has actually done a film version of the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs novel 'A Princess of Mars.' However it is on the Saturday night feature on the SyFy Channel, so caveat emptor. The story is
about a ex Confederate soldier named John Carter who mysteriously gets transported to a Mars filled with warring kingdoms, strange monsters, lots of swashbuckling action, and of course the beauteous lady who is the title character. This is not to be confused with the big budget version 'John Carter of Mars' that is being directed by Andrew Stanton who did Wall E, Finding Nemo, and A Bugs Life.
