Mike Smith brought Longshot Drosselmeyer to win in the 142nd running, Saturday.

It was the first victory for Drosselmeyer and Mike Smith. The game favored Drosselmeyer and his handler due to the absence of two champions, Saver and Preakness.

Drosselmeyer’s win was a surprise as he started third in the race tailing First Dude and Game On Dude. Drosselmeyer suddenly took the lead with 100 years left, and maintain the lead getting the victory of the game.

Fly Down ended second, First Dude finished third, and Game On Dude ended in the fourth place.

Drosselmeyer is owned by WinStar Farm, who is also the owner of well-known champion super saver.
