World Cup 2014 or the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held between June and July 2014 in Brazil. In this #1 sporting event in the world, football teams from different countries will vie for the highly coveted World Cup trophy.

According to history books, this will be the second time Brazil will be holding this sporting event. The first the country did this was back on 1950 FIFA World Cup. But this is no special feat. 4 other countries have already hosted the World Cup twice namely, Mexico, Italy, France and Germany.

But what about the World Cup on 2018 and/or 2022? Who will host them?

Several countries have formally placed their bids via a series of presentation at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich. Those countries would include, Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands, England, Russia, Spain and Portugal, and the USA. On the other hand, Japan, Korea Republic and Qatar have only placed their bids to hosting the 2022 competition.

On December 2, a final decision on who the host would be for 2018 and 2022 shall be made by FIFA’s 24-strong ruling executive committee.
