Tom Cruise Dead

Tom Cruise is the subject of a very hot topic right now on Google Trends. And he's been there before. The question on everybody's lips is at the moment is "How did Tom Cruise die?"

As far as can be told, Tom Cruise is not dead. It appears the rumor got started when a blog that likes to perpetrate hoaxes ran a title to an article that was actually speculating about his movie career. I don't want to push the hype even higher so I don't include a link here. But this is nothing new for Tom Cruise or any number of celebrities who have endured the same brief snap of fame on the web. They've all been the victim of The Celebrity Fake Death Hoax.

This year alone we have heard that Paris Hilton, Eminem and Justin Timberlake all suffered a tragic and early demise. Unfortunately those were all false rumors as well...

JK... Those are all great people! Maybe the reason fake celebrity death hoaxes get so much play is because they are generally about less than A-List celebrities and are actually deliberately crafted publicity stunts..
