Royals general manager Dayton Moore announced Thursday that manager Trey Hillman may be fired and Ned Yost will replace him.
Hillman, 47, was 151-207 in two-plus seasons with Kansas City. The Royals obtained off with a rough begin this 12 months and are 12-23 and in final place inside the American League Central.
Yost, 55, managed the Milwaukee Brewers from 2003-2008, where he was 457-502 (.477 winning pct.) prior to getting relieved of his duties on Sept. 15, 2008. He joined the Royals being a special advisor in January.
Moore introduced the move after the Royals beat the Cleveland Indians 6-4 and Zack Greinke picked up his initial victory with the season.
