Moyers' Thoughtful Farewell

The final episode of "Bill Moyers' Journal" on PBS FRiday showed everything that was great about the show, with a fascinating, penetrating, poetic interview with Barry Lopez, a writer Moyers knew well enough to not only keep up with, but to guide his question.

They were in tune, talking about big issues of the universe and it was a marvel to behold.

Where are we going to see the likes of this again on television? Who is smart enough, a good enough interviewer to stand back and let a guest talk at length, or wise enough to book such a guest in the first place?

I'm thinking it won't be Alison Stewart, who takes over the space next Friday.
