Lindsay Binegar

Lindsay Binegar is teenager form Greenfield and she has saved up enough money to buy a house for $40,000. When Binegar was 4 years old she worked to raise hogs at her family’s farm in Highland County. She earned $100 by winning a hog contest. Since she was four years old, she has been saving her money that she has earned from 4-H competitions since the tender age of 4.

Lindsay Binegar chose to not even buy anything with her winnings; however, she gave in at the age of 14 years old and decided to splurge and buy herself a purse. Wow what a saver. I would have had that money spent almost anytime I earned the money. I sure am proud of her self-discipline. I should have taught my blessings to save money like her. Hmm…maybe I should learn this before I hit the big 4-0!

Anyway, Lindsay Binegar was saving the money so that she could go to college; however, her parents decided that they would pay for her to go to college if she will go to college and stay at home. So instead, she used her $40,000 to buy herself a house. The home is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath with a 2 car garage and the miracle is that she paid for the house in cash!

So now Binegar is a business woman and actually rents out her house to her aunt and uncle for $450 per month. And not the 18 year old girl’s goal is to save enough money to buy a home for her and fiancĂ© to live in once they get married in 2011. What an entrepreneur this Ohio University freshman is. You go Lindsay Binegar…I have no doubt you will be wealthy! Want to teach me a thing or two?
