Emily Keyes was 16 years old at the time, a student at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colorado.
The 53-year-old Morrison had gained access to the school and held seven girls hostage, including Emily Keyes.
Police reports from the incident said that Morrison sexually assaulted all seven girls, before releasing four of them.
After Keyes was killed, Morrison turned the gun on himself.
Emily Keyes parents are now in the news, doing their best to get a standard response protocol in place for incidents like this in the future.
