Don Rickles

Don Rickles was born May 8, 1926  is an American stand-up comedian and actor. A frequent guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, Rickles has acted in comic and dramatic roles, but is best known as an insult comic. Rickles earned nickname “Merchant of Venom and his insult comedy.

They fought for days. But we loved it. We used to use our beach chairs all the way to the beach. They had many country clubs, and I spent working on the beach doing comedy. In his memoir, Rickles acknowledged that a scripted sitcom was not suitable to his ad-lib style of performing.

He also took a dramatic turn in the Roger Corman movie X Man by X-Ray Eyes as a Carnival Barker out to exploit the protagonist. But in contrast to many insult comics who only find short-term success, Rickles has had a lasting career in insult performance.

The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, Shop, Boing Boing, Comedy Central, etc. Host of Generation Podcast exploitation and a regular on various radio stations around North America. Don Rickles grew up in Jackson Heights, but early on the 84-year-old comic legend’s life, he lived in areas farther east.
