Armed Forces Day 2010

Tomorrow, Saturday May 15th is United States Armed Forces Day. Celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May, Armed Forced Day pays tribute to men and women who serve the United States’ armed forces. There used to be separate Army, Navy and Air Force Days but in 1949 Armed Forced Day was created to replace those.

There are many events that day place to honor our armed forces. Many cities will have parades, most notable being Armed Forces Day Parade held in Bremerton, WA. You will also find many military displays, educational activities and air shows. But even if you don't attend an event, thank a soldier when you see one. They put their lives on the line everyday and deserve our gratitude.
