2010 NBA Lottery

Before the NBA Lottery actually happened, many people envisioned Wall and Turner being selected with the first two picks in the NBA Draft.

However, watching the lottery unfold, the world got a glimpse of the draft order and BOOM, here come the speculations.

All year, John Wall has been the consensus No. 1 overall selection in the draft. Not even Evan Turner, the player of the year, could steal such a feat from him. As the lottery inched closer and closer many people still consider Wall to be selected No. 1 overall. Well, after tonight, I don't think you should be so confident with that theory.

Here is the official lottery draft order:

1. Washington Wizards

2. Philadelphia 76ers

3. New Jersey Nets

4. Minnesota Timberwolves

5. Sacramento Kings

6. Golden State Warriors

7. Detroit Pistons

8. Los Angeles Clippers

9. Utah Jazz (via New York)

10. Indiana Pacers

11. New Orleans Hornets

12. Memphis Grizzlies

13. Toronto Raptors

14. Houston Rockets

With that knowledge you can first understand that the Wizards have all this money invested in Gilbert Arenas, $80 million if you need to be reminded, so are you sure they'll still chase John Wall? I like Evan Turner more at No. 1 now.

Based on team needs, after the Wizards traded away Caron Butler, they've been in need of a deadly wingman on the court.

Evan Turner fits the description. He is the best player in this draft class, not to mention he brings so much versatility to any basketball team he plays for. He can play the 1, 2, and 3 position on the floor.

With that said, that leaves John Wall to fall to the 76ers where he can team up with Andre Igoudala.

The Net's and Timberwolves are two of the biggest losers in this lottery draft. The GM of the Net's publicly came out and said himself that he was going to draft John Wall. Everyone was speculating a possible Lebron and Wall duo in New Jersey, but as you can see, the players that the T'Wolves and Nets had high hopes for should be taken off the board by the time they pick.

The biggest loser of the lottery is the Golden State Warriors. They wanted a crack at the top players in the draft. They wanted to acquire Cousins if they could, or possibly see if the dice fell their way in hopes to get an athletic freak in Favors, or possibly Turner.

Now they're stuck with the sixth pick, which isn't all that bad, but the players that can change their team around will most likely be taken off the board before then.

Just like in the NFL draft, one spot matters. Ask the Cowboys who jumped the gun on the Ravens to take Dez Bryant.

The NBA Draft has officially been shaken up, but that only makes it more interesting. Mark your calendars folks; we're in for a great NBA draft.
