NEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC says Keith Olbermann will be back on the air Tuesday, ending his suspension for violating NBC’s rules against making political donations after two shows.

MSNBC’s chief executive Phil Griffin said late Sunday that after several days of deliberation, he had determined that two days off the air was “an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy.”

The left-leaning cable network’s most popular personality acknowledged donating $2,400 apiece to the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway and Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. NBC News prohibits its employees from making political donations unless an exception is granted in advance by the network news president. In this case, Olbermann’s bosses didn’t know about them until being informed by a reporter.

Keith Olbermann Suspended: Two guys. Two violations of company policy. Two different outcomes.
MSNBC and former ESPN personality Keith Olbermann has been suspended without pay for donating money to political candidates without permission from his bosses. That violated company policy. We can only assume that Comcast is looking to trim payroll as it acquires NBC Universal. David Cohen is a major player at Comcast and he was Gov. Edward Rendell’s boy for a while. Donating to Democrats can’t be that much of a crime, can it?
Seriously, Olbermann gets suspended for something few knew or cared about.

Class is in session! Glenn Beck University is open for business, and they’ve already got at least one student that is all but guaranteed to spend his entire tenure in front of the disciplinary board: Keith Olbermann. Olbermann e-attended the first lecture with Beck U Professor David Barton and, given that he thinks Barton is a “Christian nationalist pseudo-historian,” he took the lecture with a grain of salt.
